Initially managed as a commercial entity, UCT Press is transitioning to a fully diamond open access university press dedicated to advancing the production and dissemination of high-quality, original, peer-reviewed research for, from, and about Africa. Situated within Africa’s leading university, the University of Cape Town, the press is a scholar-led, non-commercial publisher committed to social justice by making scholarly work widely accessible and discoverable. While its publications primarily focus on the humanities, UCT Press also welcomes interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary scholarship in the form of monographs and edited collections that offer new insights from African perspectives.
