OAPEN supports the transition to open access for academic books by providing open infrastructure services to stakeholders, including the DOAB (Directory of Open Access Books), on which OAPEN works in partnership with  Open Edition.

OAPEN provides Supporters with:

  • OAPEN and DOAB annual stakeholder report sent directly to the Supporter;

  • Waiving OAPEN publisher fees for publishing entities (e.g. University Press) affiliated with the Supporter institution

  • COUNTER-conformant usage reports provided as a dashboard including the Supporter’s institutional (IP-based) and geolocation (regional) usage, automatically updated monthly;
  • community involvement. Supporters are invited to give input to the continued development of the OAPEN and DOAB services on a yearly basis and through library working group participation;
  • regular updates through email list for Supporters;
  • acknowledgment of contributors on the OAPEN and DOAB websites & through our social media accounts;
  • bespoke metadata exports for the OAPEN Library through our new service, the Metadata Export Module for Open access books (MEMO).
